HTTP 500 error after updateing to 2.1.14

Description

I updated eXplorer from 2.1.13 which was working to 2.1.14. Now the browser shows a blank page when calling eXtplorer from Joomla backend and Firefox network monitor shows a HTTP 500 error. Interestingly, I do not see any error details though I set error mode to detailed in web.config of IIS 10.
Joomla 3.9.24 is running with PHP 7.4.15.
