eXtplorer hangs

Description

I've been using eXtplorer for a long time now. Had been working well up to installation of the the latest Joomla update 2.5.3. Since then the extensions hangs and fails to open error message "Notice: Undefined variable: authentication_type in /home/k4qky/public_html/joomlapatterns/administrator/components/com_extplorer/include/login.php on line 57"

Any assistance to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Works perfectly for me on J! 2.5.3...

I have the same problem on 3 different sites now that I upgrade from J!2.5.3 to
2.5.4.

It was working fine before the upgrade, but now I get a spinning wheel
while it's trying to load, and if I click ftp, I get the same
error Don mentions above.

Is upgrading J! what's breaking extplorer? I created a new site on
J! 2.5.4, and extplorer works fine.
