eXtplorer - PHP-based File Manager

extplorer works beautifully using admin/admin. when I try to change password, modify or add I receive messsage "updated successfully" despite the fact that no information was saved or added. There doesn't seem to be anywhere for extplorer to store the information. Apparently I missed some step in the installation procedure. Please inform me what is required.
