Error when running RC5 on Joomla 1.7

Description

EXTplorer keeps trying to load the directory listing over and over when trying to run extplorer. If I try to click on ftp mode and hit escape I can see the following error message:
Undefined variable: authentication_type in /home/jackso17/public_html/tdccycle.com/administrator/components/com_extplorer/include/login.php on line 57

The page still shows it is not in FTP mode when displaying this error.
